Hello & welcome! My name is Mel and I am the artist behind AniMel Art.
From a very young age my fascination of the natural world has inspired me to create. Growing up in Aotearoa, and working in the animal industry really shaped the way I see the world! I aim to capture those special moments with nature through my detailed illustrations.
I primarily work on commission creating illustrations & Animal Portraits of New Zealand pets & working dogs. I absolutely LOVE creating personalised artwork for you that captures your animals at their best, the way you want to remember them.
When I’m not painting your pets, I’m working on original artwork inspired by animals, nature, and our unique NZ flora & fauna.
My favourite mediums to work with are watercolour paint, ink fine liner pens, and coloured pencils.
